Lovat Panto

The Ladies of the Telford Centre did an amazing job with their 'panto' to entertain the residents of the Fort Augustus Telford Centre. Christmas lunch was held on 17th December 2008 with nearly 40 guests celebrating the festivities at the hotel.

David, our new GM even got in on the theatrical action after showing off our fantastic Christmas puddings then chasing the ladies with a wooden spoon!

All good fun...thanks for a great day

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Bring on the snow - then we can all hit the slopes!
The snow also makes for a lovely Christmassy feel that entices you to hug the fire, lose yourself in a book & glug on a soothing drink.

Thanks goes to Alan Kemp, SSE, for this great photo that captures the hotel's serenity beautifully.

The Last Supper...

It will certainly be a sad day when the last of SSE leave the building in 2009. Their custom since 2005 has been greatly appreciated, they have brought a warmth & laughter to the hotel whatever the weather conditions & technical battles they have had to face. They have also stuck with us, through thick & thin, during the refurbishment – never losing faith in our ability to open (!) - so we are grateful for their perseverance during this time.

The hotel has thrived on SSE's business throughout the year, in-particular during the Winter months. We have provided off-site external catering services for monumental events during the Glendoe development, as well as for community meetings held locally to keep the public informed of their progress.

The hotel was delighted to hold the final Christmas Party on 10th December 2008. To mark the occasion, each long standing SSE associate was presented with a ‘Loving it at the Lovat’ Silver Pen & Holder. We all just hope this is not the end of their custom & they continue to visit us at the hotel, outside of work commitments.

Thank you to Neil(s), John, Alan, Ronnie & Brian(s) for being such great customers & friends.

We will miss you!

Travel Articles

We had 2 journalists stay at the hotel this November to explore the area.

Wilderness Scotland had a lovely piece in the Guardian as did Jacobite Cruises in the Scotsman.

Thanks to both businesses for their continued support by offering the hotel as a journalist base for their stay in the Highlands.

Potty Pops!

I write to assure everyone that life is very much back to normal. I may have a pot on but I can still rant, rave, tell people what to do & do the figures!

E mails might be a little slower but I hope to maintain efficiency in all other areas.

Being considered totally pots by the Grandchildren...they are now delighted that I am truely ‘Pots Pops’!!

Croc with a bit of Bite

2 days ago David slipped on a leaf with his 'oh so comfy' crocs...these quietly smug relatively new inventions have come back to bite a few people...& him. The next 6 weeks will see David with a stookie...does that mean no work? does that mean no laptop access? If either of those - he is going to be more uptight than ever!

I am now racking my brains over what to write on the cast.

Sorry D but you have to laugh!
